Bachelor's degree from Colorado State (Go Rams!) in Spanish with a minor in English. Master's degree from the University of Colorado (Go Buffs!) in Educational Equity and Cultural Diversity.
What I love about teaching is the opportunity to watch kids grow as learners. I love seeing a student master something new and I love learning from and about them. I love that every day as a teacher is new and different; it is impossible to be bored as an educator!
Outside of school, I spend as much time as possible at our cabin, enjoying the beauty of Colorado. I love to take long walks, paddleboard, travel, run, hike, read, read, and read some more!! I also have a quirky hobby of decorating cakes and am always trying some new design idea.
I've taught Spanish 1, Spanish 1B, Spanish 2 and English language development. I also teach the 6th grade World Language Explorations class.
My Spanish classroom is teacher lead but student centered as students work toward Spanish acquisition. My goal is always to connect the students to the Spanish language. It is my goal and hope for students to take what they learn out of the classroom and into the world. Spanish class is comprehensible, interactive and fun.
