Webber Middle School, opened in 1990, is named for Don Webber, former PSD teacher, coach, principal, and superintendent. A new gymnasium was added in 1999, and the cafeteria was expanded in 2005. During the 2014-2105 school year, Webber celebrated it 25th year of educating the Webber and Fort Collins Communities.
Webber Middle School offers academically rigorous, standards based curriculum for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. We offer challenging academic options, including Pre-Advanced Placement courses in core classes for 7th and 8th graders and a full exploratory wheel for 6th grade students. These core academic areas are balanced with other options in electives, arts and athletics to ensure a whole child approach to learning. During the 2015-2016 school year, Webber will begin a 1:1 laptop home/school program with all 6th and 7th grade students to enrich the learning cycle for our school community. During the 2015-2016 school year we also began the Webber 101 program for all incoming 6th grade students that supports the transition to middle school with focused instruction in time management skills, note taking structures, daily time management tips and the safe use of technology. Webber also offers a wide variety of enrichment activities for our students that include our web based television studio, drama, theater, outdoor living, Science Olympiad, the WAVE program and our student leadership program (WEB Leaders). Webber also houses an award-winning band, orchestra and choir program that is supported by numerous local musical leaders from Fort Collins, CSU and surrounding communities. Webber students also participate in PSD Middle School Athletics, where our school community has won 50+ district championships over the last 25 years. We also support student field trips to the American Southwest, Costa Rica, Germany and other European countries on a yearly basis that provide enriching opportunities for our students.
