Hello! My name is Thomas Wortmann Jr, I graduated UNC in the summer of 2021. I have a real drive for Special Education, students, real life connections and preparing my students for the future ahead of them. My personal interests are Live music, Hiking and spending time with loved ones.
My classroom is a Centers Based Autism Program. This means we teach a wide variety of subjects and skills within my room. My classroom does not operate like a typical classroom, we typically work in small groups or individualized work for that specific students need.
This is my SECOND year of being a teacher. We started this program last year and it is slowly growing. I helped manage the unified basketball team and was the head coach for the special olympics here at Webber.
Hiking, Live Music and being with loved ones. I typically try to visit one new National Park each year with an extended camping trip.
The connection with my students and watching them master the tasks that I know they can do! No better feeling that watching students succeed.
