Thanks for visiting my page. Originally from Fort Collins, I am a graduate of the Poudre School District, graduating from Fort Collins High School in 1997. This is my seventh year as a Language Arts teacher at Webber Middle School.
Middle school can be a confusing and complicated time for young people. In my classroom, I strive to create a consistent, structured and safe environment for students to navigate the often intense ups and downs of this time in their lives. An important part of that is guiding and supporting students to find and use their voice, educationally and personally.
My undergraduate degree is in journalism and I have experience as a newspaper reporter. Following graduate school, I started teaching social studies, eventually transitioning into work as a high school administrator in southwest Colorado. In 2016, I moved back to Fort Collins and began teaching in the Poudre School District, first at Boltz Middle School and now I am proud Webber Middle School Panther.
I love to bike, play guitar and spend time with my family.
Connecting with young people and helping them tell their stories and opening their minds to a world beyond their own lives.
