My classroom, whether online or in person, is a place where all students should feel welcome, safe and comfortable as they learn and take healthy risks.
I have a Bachelors degree and a Masters degree in Geography. In 1992, I began working with teachers through the Geographic Alliance in Nevada, a National Geographic state alliance program dedicated to insuring quality K-12 geographic education. I was so inspired by the incredible teachers and professors I worked with in GAIN that I earned my teaching license and began teaching high school geography, AP human geography, world history, and American government. I’ve taught geography at the middle, high school and college level. I have been working in PSD since 2001 and have worked at Rocky Mountain High School, at the PSD administrative offices as the Social Studies Facilitator, and have been at Webber since 2005.
My favorite things to do outside of school are being with my family, cooking, hiking, practicing yoga, and traveling.
I absolutely love working with kids and getting them excited about learning! It is so important to help students learn about the world around them, about their connection to each other and to other people and places, and about how to be successful in school and out. Teaching social studies is my passion! Remember, without geography, you are nowhere!
At Webber Middle School, I have taught 7th grade social studies and health.
