Thomas Wortmann Jr

Hello! My name is Thomas Wortmann Jr, I graduated UNC in the summer of 2021. I have a real drive for Special Education, students, real life connections and preparing my students for the future ahead of them. My personal interests are Live music, Hiking and spending time with loved ones.

About My Classroom

My classroom is a Centers Based ILS Program. This means we teach a wide variety of subjects and skills within my room. My classroom does not operate like a typical classroom, we typically work in small groups or individualized work for that specific students need.

What is your education background and experience?

This is my sixth year teaching Center-Based programming at Webber. I went to UNC for my undergraduate program and graduated in 2021 with my Special Education degree. I went back to UNC to finish my graduate degree in building administration and graduated in December of 2025.

What are your favorite hobbies or interests outside of school?

Hiking, Live Music and being with loved ones. I typically try to visit one new National Park each year with an extended camping trip.

What do you love most about teaching?

The connection with my students and watching them master the tasks that I know they can do! No better feeling that watching students succeed.
