About Me
What is your education background and experience?:

I am a native Coloradoan, going to school in Loveland:  Namaqua Elementary, Walt Clark Junior High, and Thompson Valley Hgih School.

I spent one year abroad as a Rotary Exchange Student, living in Skagen, Denmark.  I attended the University of Northern Colorado and graduated with a B.A. in English with an emphasis in Physical Education.   I began my teaching career at Thompson Valley H.S. and Loveland H.S., teaching Freshman English, Honor's English, Creative Writing, and Speech.  The following year I taught at Rocky Mountain H.S. for several years, teaching Sophomore English, American Literature and Humanities, and Modern Literature and Composition.

I  earned my Master's Degree in Special Education: Affect with an added endorsement in English Language Learners at the University of Northern Colorado. While working on my Masters degree, I had a part-time job at Heath Middle School in Greeley teaching English and geography.

I began teaching at Webber Middle School in 1996 as a Special Education teacher.

Coaching experience:  Thompson Valley H.S.:  volleyball and basketball.  Rocky Mountain H.S.:  Soccer, swimming, and Forensics.  Webber Middle School:  basketball and golf.

What do you love most about teaching?:

When I was in second grade, I knew I wanted to be a teacher.  That was my dream, and to this day, I cannot imagine doing anything different!  I love teaching and working with kids each day!

What are your favorite hobbies or interests outside of school?:

Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family.  We especially like to travel.

In my free time I like to road ride, mountain bike, downhill ski, play soccer, do different water activities, and read.

My Classroom
Courses Taught:

Depending on the students' needs for the year, I have taught the following classes:  Read 180, English, math and study skills.

About My Classroom:

Students will be working on meeting IEP goals and objectives.  The first half of the class is teacher directed instruction, and the second half of the class is homework time.  Students are encouraged to bring work from other classes to get one-on-one assistance.  During direct instruction, I review, re-teach, re-explain core class content, and/or practice reading and writing through novel work.
